Ireland is now 4th globally for AI adoption.
AI adoption in Irish organisations jumped from 49 percent in 2024 to 91 percent in 2025. Microsoft and Trinity College Dublin project AI will add 250 billion euro to Irish GDP by 2035.
Translation for your career: the AI skills premium is real, and it is growing.
PwC's 2025 Global AI Jobs Barometer confirms AI skills now command a 56 percent wage premium. In 2024, that premium was 25 percent. It has more than doubled in twelve months.
Here are the top 5 AI roles paying the most in Ireland right now, based on data from Morgan McKinley, Glassdoor, ERI, and RoleUp.
1. Machine Learning Engineer

4. AI Product Manager

Here is what these numbers do not tell you.
40 percent of Irish companies cannot find qualified AI talent (IT Search). 78 percent report skills shortages in IT roles (ManpowerGroup). Ireland needs over 8,000 high-level IT professionals every year.
That is the gap. That is the opportunity.
AI-exposed jobs are evolving 66 percent faster than non-exposed roles. If you work in marketing, finance, operations, or sales, your role is already being reshaped.
You do not need to become a machine learning engineer. You need to pair AI skills with your existing expertise.
For marketers like me, that means learning prompt engineering, understanding LLM integration, working with AI-powered analytics, and testing AI tools on real campaigns.
I have been upskilling in Python, Azure, and AI strategy over the past year while running brand activation and account management for MTS Trade UK. The wage premium data tells me this investment will compound.
What role on this list surprised you? And what are you doing right now to capture the AI premium?
